Polar Bears And Climate Change

They’re cute, cuddly as well as absolutely vulnerable. Polar bears capture the admiration and attention of folks the world over for their fluffy white furs as well as huggable size. They amass appreciation from animal fans for their searching skill and survival tactics in one of the harshest environments on Earth. Yet regardless of their confusing recognition these giants are in hazard of being actually wiped off Earth absolutely.
Ice melting really should be a primary focus of conservation energies for the polar bear as this is actually impacting the polar bear the most. Polar bears count on huge stops of floating ice to execute their day-to-day actions associated to thriving. Polar bears prey on fat-laden seals from these blocks of ice, they mate, as well as some even deliver their cubs on them. The problem with the ice melting is that several polar bears have gone hungry since there is actually not ample ice for them to hunt their prey. This affects their ability to reproduce as well as bring their cubs to term that instantly impacts population numbers. Also, when ice is also a long way from land, polar bears will definitely wipe out trying to swim a long way distances to locate them. All of these aspects have made the polar bear more land bound.
When polar bears are on land they are actually more very likely to come face-to-face by having a predator, people. In some cases folks hunt polar bears as prizes and more individuals eradicate polar bears while defending themselves. People additional impact polar bears when companies construct facilities in their natural environment, consequently adjusting it irrevocably.
Who Is Helping, and How
Principal contributors to the fight to conserve the Arctic Polar Bear provide the Coca-Cola Business as well as the World Fauna Fund. All together these businesses are actually raising cash to groundwork exactly what is actually generating global climate change as well as performing with governmental bureaus to oversee greenhouse gas emissions. Other principal ventures feature energies to defend against unfavorable mortal connections consisting of poaching and remarkable tourism as well as defending pivotal environment locations such as birthing dens.

“I can kill polar bears anytime I want, anywhere I want, no matter what anybody says” ? http://www.economist.com/world/americas/displaystory.cfm?story_id=12652176 Given that eskimos , native canadians, and other savages have said this, and are busy hunting Polar Bears to extinction, why are animal rights activists and global warming nazis hissing and hyperventilating about turkeys and other domestic livestock or blaming dead polar bears on fossil fuels, or other such nonsense.? These people are responsible for damn near every mega-fauna extinction on this entire continent and are not content until they are completely dead. But political correctness apparently means you can’t say anything about this, unless you are writing from a British magazine. Why are American and Canadian magazines and newspapers afraid to expose these people for the brainless bloodthirsty killers they are? Patricia, it’s a direct quote from the Native Americans who are busy killing polar bears to extinction.

1. Look up information about polar bears — where they live, what they eat, and how much they need. 2. Also look up information about seals, which I believe the polar bears find quite tasty. 3. Look up information about the commercial fishing industry in those same areas, and how much fish they take of the kind that the seals (and perhaps the bears) would eat. 4. Put both together in a sensible way, and you’ll have a decent report!

People are moving up there and moving there food away?

A disruption in the food chain will always see repercussion down the chain. We as humans have created this.

not many animals live in the same area as polar bears, that’s why they sit on the ice by a hole and “fish” out of it. when the fish popluation decreases, so does their food supply. And polar bears aren’t the fastest creatures, making it hard for them to catch jackrabbits and the other small, but faster, land animals.

Polar bears eat seals, not fish, but the seals eat fish, so in that way I guess you could say that fishing is bringing them closer to extinction. The main problem for polar bears is the dwindling polar ice cap – in other words – the warming trend presently obvious in the high arctic. Polar bears hunt for seals from the ice, so less ice, less hunting territory for bears.

Polar bears primarily eat seals. Seals need fish to live. No fish, no seals, No seals and you get hungry Polar Bears.

Polar Bear Extinction Question? What would happen if most of the polar bears died out. Im writing a paper on them possibly going extinct. So besides from the ecosystem going out of wack what else would happen
Birdman on February 12, 2012 at 11:37 pm.
The polar bear population has increased by 1/3 in the past 10 years. Don’t believe all that Al Gore Global Warming Crap!!! They are not going extinct anytime soon.

actually, polar bears are a subspecies of grizzly bears. So they might loose that white coat and become griz, again (the ones that found their way back to land, anyhow). Uh after about half or more die… The idea of extinction is more about genetic erosion (fewer DNA gene pools mean more catastrophic population collapse than with myriad species)… So if something happens to the panda bear pop. then some other species can fill in that niche. Otherwise, bamboo might take over the world. See the permian extinction… there was fewer species and whatever caused the collapse killed off 80 to 90% of all ocean species and 70% of all land species. That’s a lot and it took five million years for the earth to recover–that’s a long time.

Other than the obvious loss of a species, the ecosystem is the biggest problem. No bears, more seals. More seals, less fish. and on and on it goes. It would take a long time to sort itself out (which it would)
